OPEN LETTER TO INDIAN & GLOBAL JOURNALISTS
FROM NAGPUR TO GAZA: FOLLOW THE RSS–ISRAEL–INDIA DEFENCE MONEY TRAIL
An appeal to newspapers, television networks, digital media, investigative journalists and international news organisations to investigate the political, ideological and financial networks surrounding the RSS and the India–Israel defence relationship
To the Editors, Investigative Journalists, Foreign Correspondents, Defence Reporters and Media Organisations of India and the World,
Journalism is not the business of accepting official narratives.
It is the responsibility of journalists to ask difficult questions, examine documents, follow money, identify beneficiaries and establish facts—especially when governments, powerful political organisations and multinational corporations are involved.
I therefore appeal to the Indian and global media to undertake a professional, independent and document-based investigation into the emerging RSS–Israel–India defence and political ecosystem.
This appeal is not asking journalists to begin with a predetermined conclusion.
It is asking them to follow the evidence wherever it leads.

THE QUESTION THAT DEMANDS INVESTIGATION
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has played a central role in the ideological development of Hindu nationalism in modern India.
There is an established scholarly literature examining the historical writings of V.D. Savarkar and M.S. Golwalkar and the development of Hindutva’s understanding of Indian identity and history.
At the same time, India and Israel have developed an exceptionally close strategic and defence relationship, particularly during the Modi era.
The question for journalists is therefore not whether every RSS member, every Israeli citizen or every Indian government policy represents a single ideology.
The question is:
«Has an historical ideological affinity between sections of the Hindutva movement and Zionism evolved, alongside India’s strategic partnership with Israel, into a wider political, technological, military and financial ecosystem?»
And if such an ecosystem exists:
«Who finances it, who profits from it, who controls it and where do its products ultimately go?»

FOLLOW THE MONEY — NOT THE PROPAGANDA
There is now evidence that demands serious journalistic examination.
On 30 July 2026, Amnesty International published its investigation “Made in India: The Supply of Weapons and Ammunition to Israel.”
According to Amnesty, investigators examined 2,596 shipments of arms, ammunition, military-vehicle components and related material exported from India to Israel between 7 October 2023 and 30 November 2025.
The investigation identified, among other things:
– 390,516 small-arms parts;
– 564,970 parts of explosive ordnance;
– 298 military-vehicle components;
– machine-gun components associated with weapons deployed by Israeli forces in Gaza;
– 155mm high-explosive artillery-shells supplied to Elbit Systems;
– explosive warheads for Sky striker loitering munitions similar to those identified in debris in Khan Younis;
– armoured-vehicle components destined for major Israeli military suppliers.
These are not allegations originating on social media.
They are findings published by an international human-rights organisation based on shipment-level trade data.
That alone warrants serious investigation by mainstream media.

THE INDIAN COMPANIES
Amnesty’s investigation identifies several Indian companies involved in the supply chain, including:
PLR Systems Private Limited
A joint venture between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Israel Weapon Industries, manufacturing machine-gun parts.
Kalyani Systems Private Limited
A Bharat Forge subsidiary involved in artillery rounds and casings.
Munitions India Limited
A state-owned Indian defence company manufacturing high-explosive artillery rounds.
Alpha Elec Defence & Aerospace Systems Private Limited
A joint venture involving Alpha Design Technologies and Elbit Systems, producing explosive warheads.
Indo-MIM Private Limited
Identified in connection with firearm components.
The Israeli companies identified as recipients include Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, companies that supply the Israeli military.
This creates a question that should be investigated by journalists rather than debated merely as political rhetoric:
«What exactly was exported from India, who purchased it, what was its value, who ultimately received it, and how was it used?»

THE ADANI–ELBIT QUESTION
The Adani–Elbit relationship deserves particular scrutiny.
Indian and Israeli defence technology have increasingly become integrated through joint ventures and manufacturing arrangements.
The investigative task is not to accuse a company merely because it has an Israeli partnership.
It is to establish:
Who owns what?
Who invested how much?
Which technology was transferred?
Where was it manufactured?
Who purchased the resulting product?
Where was it exported?
What end-user guarantees were issued?
What happened after the product reached Israel?
These are standard questions for serious defence and corporate journalism.

THE RSS QUESTION
The RSS itself must also be investigated through documents rather than slogans.
Journalists should examine:
– historical RSS writings;
– writings of Savarkar and Golwalkar;
– historical references to Zionism and Jewish nationalism;
– RSS contacts with Israeli officials;
– meetings between RSS representatives and Israeli diplomats;
– contemporary RSS statements regarding Israel and Palestine;
– political relationships involving the broader Sangh Parivar;
– defence-industry relationships involving Indian companies and Israeli firms.
The objective should not be to manufacture a conspiracy.
The objective should be to determine whether documented ideological, political and commercial connections overlap—and, if so, to what extent.

FROM NAGPUR TO GAZA
This investigation should ultimately connect three separate evidence streams.
1. IDEOLOGY
Savarkar → Golwalkar → Hindutva → historical attitudes toward Zionism
2. POLITICS & DIPLOMACY
India–Israel diplomatic relations → Modi–Netanyahu relationship → RSS–Israel contacts → strategic partnership
3. MONEY & WEAPONS
Indian manufacturers → Israeli defence companies → defence supply chains → Israeli military → Gaza
The journalist’s task is to determine whether these are merely parallel developments or whether there are documented connections between them.

DO NOT CONFUSE CORRELATION WITH PROOF
This investigation requires an unusually high standard of evidence.
A journalist should not write:
«“RSS and Israel have formed a secret war against Islam.”»
unless documentary evidence establishes such an organisation, agreement or coordinated policy.
Nor should journalists claim that every Indian-made component exported to Israel was used in a particular attack.
Instead, the evidence should be presented step by step.
For example:
Indian company

Evidence of deployment in Gaza

Forensic evidence of a particular incident
That is the standard required for an investigation of international significance.

THE QUESTIONS THE MEDIA SHOULD ASK THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA
We call upon journalists to put specific questions to the Government of India:
1. How many arms, ammunition and military-component export licences to Israel have been issued since 7 October 2023?
2. What is the total financial value of those exports?
3. Which Indian companies received those licences?
4. Which Israeli companies received Indian-origin defence products?
5. What end-user certificates were required?
6. Were any licences rejected, suspended or cancelled because of the Gaza war?
7. What human-rights due diligence is conducted before military exports to Israel are approved?
8. Does India maintain a database identifying the ultimate military end-user of exported defence components?
9.Has the Government investigated whether Indian-origin components have been incorporated into weapons used in Gaza?
10. Why has India not joined the Arms Trade Treaty?
These are legitimate questions of public interest.
Amnesty’s investigation specifically raises concerns about transparency and the absence of an explicit human-rights due-diligence requirement in India’s export framework.
The Government of India should therefore be given an opportunity to respond fully to the findings.

QUESTIONS FOR THE COMPANIES
Journalists should also ask every company identified in the supply chain:
What did you export?
When?
To whom?
For how much?
Under which licence?
What end-use certificate was obtained?
Did you conduct human-rights due diligence?
Do you know whether your products were incorporated into weapons used in Gaza?
Have you investigated that possibility?
Will you publish your contracts and export data?
And most importantly:
«Who is the ultimate beneficiary of the transaction?»

QUESTIONS FOR ISRAEL
The investigation should not stop at the Indian border.
Israeli companies should be asked:
– Which Indian components enter their manufacturing processes?
– What weapons incorporate those components?
– Which contracts supply the Israeli military?
– Which systems containing Indian-origin components have been deployed in Gaza?
– What is the annual value of their Indian procurement?
– Which Indian joint ventures are strategically important to Israeli defence production?
Only by investigating both sides of the transaction can journalists reconstruct the complete supply chain.

WHAT ABOUT THE PALESTINIAN VICTIMS ?
The human dimension must never disappear behind spreadsheets.
Gaza contains the ultimate question:
«If a component manufactured in India enters an Israeli weapon system and that weapon is subsequently used in Gaza, can the supply chain be reconstructed sufficiently to establish responsibility?»
That requires independent forensic investigation.
Photographs, satellite imagery, weapons fragments, serial numbers, manufacturer’s markings, customs records, procurement documents and battlefield evidence should all be examined.
The victims of war deserve more than political arguments.
They deserve evidence.

Do not simply reproduce statements from governments.
Do not simply reproduce statements from political parties.
Do not simply reproduce statements from activists.
Obtain the documents.
Verify the shipments.
Follow the money.
Identify the ownership.
Trace the weapons.
Interview the manufacturers.
Question the governments.
Examine the battlefield evidence.
And publish the evidence—even if it contradicts the hypothesis with which the investigation began.

THE WORLD NEEDS AN ANSWER
This investigation is ultimately bigger than the RSS.
It concerns the relationship between:
IDEOLOGY
STATE POWER
DEFENCE INDUSTRY
PRIVATE CAPITAL
INTERNATIONAL ARMS TRADE
CORPORATE PROFIT
and
CIVILIAN LIFE IN WAR.
The central question is therefore not:
«“Are you pro-India or pro-Israel?”»
Nor:
«“Are you pro-RSS or anti-RSS?”»
The journalist’s question should be:
«WHAT DOES THE DOCUMENTARY RECORD SHOW?»
If the evidence establishes only a normal strategic defence partnership, publish that finding.
If it establishes deeper political and ideological connections, document them.
If it establishes financial networks, expose them.
If Indian-origin weapons or components can be conclusively traced into weapons used in unlawful attacks, establish the chain.
And if allegations cannot be proved, say so.
That is journalism.

AN APPEAL FROM INDIA TO THE WORLD
India’s democracy cannot be protected by silence.
Nor can journalism protect democracy by becoming an extension of government, corporate or ideological public relations.
The RSS is one of the most influential political-social organisations in modern India. Israel is a major global military power. India is one of the world’s largest defence markets and an increasingly important defence manufacturer.
The intersection of these histories, institutions and commercial relationships deserves independent scrutiny.
The recent Amnesty investigation demonstrates that the India–Israel arms relationship can be investigated at the level of individual shipments and companies—not merely through political rhetoric.
Therefore, I appeal to journalists everywhere:
OPEN THE FILES.
FOLLOW THE MONEY.
TRACE THE WEAPONS.
QUESTION THE POWERFUL.
PROTECT THE EVIDENCE.
LET THE PUBLIC DECIDE WHAT THE FACTS MEAN.
From Nagpur to New Delhi, from Tel Aviv to Gaza, the world deserves to know what connects ideology, politics, technology, defence manufacturing and money.
The investigation should begin—not with a verdict—but with the documents.
